That's right. I made the very first motion graphics video in the history of computers. All kidding aside, this is my first foray into the motion graphics world during my first year at Gallery 37. Gallery 37 is one of the top art/after school programs in the city and it is sponsored by Chicago Public Schools. A lot of students apply and not everyone gets in, so it's been a nice opportunity to get experience with the industry standard Adobe products (they actually use these things to work on movies!). The class is held from 2-4, five days a week, and there is an application process that is painfully similar to the horrible college applications process (interview and all).
Anyway, our first assignment was to use our month's worth of experience in Adobe After Effects and Photoshop to create a 30-second proof of concept music video. This is what I turned in.
It's nowhere near what I wanted to be, and I'll probably continue to work on it, but I think it turned out pretty alright.
Part of this process was to document our work day by day. We made these blogs after finishing the project, so unfortunately you won't really be able to get the play by play of how I did everything. However, for the next project, there will definitely be ongoing "The Making Of _____" posts. So stay tuned!
